I started sending out mass emails campagins in 2020.
I would get up at 4 am, fire up my laptop and copy-paste same email to hundreds of people until 10 am.
I followed this routine for a whole month.
After sending out like thousands of emails, I heard back nothing.
Crickets.
Not even a single person replied.
And I realized that approach was wrong.
I thought maybe email marketing is dead.
Let’s go somewhere else.
So, I started sending cold DMs on social media.
Same generic message. Change name and send out.
I did this on LinkedIn and Facebook.
Still, no signigifcant results.
People did reply but not a single person hired me for my services.
During this time, I landed a Swiss SaaS company but that inbound lead.
It is a story for another time.
Anyhow, after successfully failing at cold outreach.
My motivation was still high.
So, I took some courses.
And began studying how outreach works.
How people on the other end think.
And I realized that I should find a way to hold people’s attention and then get them interested in my services.
And finally have them take action.
Writing a attention grabbing hook wasn’t difficult for me at that point.
The real challenge was getting clients interested in my services.
That was the real challenge.
And that when I discovered Value Validation Projects.
So, I started deploying VVP in my cold outreach and in proposals.
And Damn!
The results were astonishing.
I got 7-8 calls booked in 2 weeks.
And I closed 5 clients.
I was overwhelmed with work and couldn’t handle the workload.
I dont remember the right moment but all of this happened when a light bulb turned on in my mind.
I thought that why not show my services instead of talking.
And I discovered Value Validation Project.
This idea struck me just as I launched my own agency.
As soon as my designation changed to CEO on LinkedIn, I began receiving the same type of cold DMs I had been sending out—and I found annoying and off-putting.
Honestly, this insight led to the strategic pivot in my outreach strategy.
I needed a method that not only reached out to potential clients but also engaged them by clearly demonstrating the value I could bring to their business.
This led to the development of what I now call the "value validation project."
For freelancers and agency owners, standing out in a saturated market is not just about being seen—it's about being remembered and valued.
